About Steven

Steven Shergill is counsel at Synthesis Legal, where his practice is concentrated in construction litigation, commercial disputes, and real estate litigation. He takes a practical, business-oriented approach to complex matters involving developers, contractors, business owners, and property stakeholders. Before joining Synthesis Legal, he led the construction litigation group at a regional firm in Surrey and practiced at a large international firm, working on multi-million dollar infrastructure claims, builders' lien disputes, shareholder and partnership conflicts, contract litigation, and commercial leasing issues. Shergill holds a Juris Doctor from Thompson Rivers University, where he graduated as valedictorian, and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. He articled with the Legal Services Division of the City of Surrey and was called to the bar in British Columbia in 2019. He is a board member and volunteer lawyer with the South Asian Legal Clinic of BC and is fluent in Punjabi, French, and Urdu, with conversational Farsi.
