About Stephanie Pearce

Stephanie Pearce is a partner in Gowling WLG's Ottawa office, and public procurement is at the centre of the work. Bid protests, government contracting and judicial review sit alongside health law and both civil and administrative litigation. Pearce also helps clients with access to information requests and with the laws and policies that shape how public bodies buy.

Courtroom work has taken Pearce to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Federal Court of Canada and the Supreme Court of Canada. The tribunal work reaches the Canadian International Trade Tribunal, the Canada Transportation Agency and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. Pearce has also acted as counsel at coroner's inquests and before the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board.

Pearce was called to the Ontario bar in 2007, a year after finishing a JD at the University of Toronto, and became a partner at what was then Gowling Lafleur Henderson LLP in 2015. In 2010, Pearce and Brian A. Crane, Q.C. acted for the appellant in a Supreme Court of Canada appeal from the Court Martial Appeal Court. More recently, Pearce co-wrote an article on Canada's defence procurement priorities for the firm's Defence Forecast 2025 and co-edited that publication. Best Lawyers has recognized Pearce since 2025.

Away from the office, Pearce has volunteered since 2005 with GuluWalk, an international effort that draws attention to the hardships facing Acholi children in northern Uganda.
