About Stephanie
Stephanie Dawes is an associate specializing in general insurance litigation, with appearances in the BC Provincial Court, Supreme Court, and Court of Appeal, as well as mediations and settlement conferences. Before law, she worked as a pathology attendant conducting autopsies on Vancouver Island, a background she says gives her a distinctive perspective in her legal work. During law school she was a research assistant for Harvard Law's Animal Law & Policy Program and worked at the University of Victoria's Law Centre legal clinic. Dawes earned a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Victoria (2018) and a J.D. from Thompson Rivers University (2022), and was called to the British Columbia bar in 2023.
