About Stan
Stan Floras is a partner at Thomson Rogers focusing on planning and municipal law. Called to the Ontario Bar in 1986, he began his career in private practice acting for municipal clients before joining the Region of Halton as planning and development legal counsel. There he oversaw major strategic initiatives, including complex development agreement negotiations and service allocation planning tied to the growth of North Oakville and Milton, as well as aggregate development approvals involving environmental safeguards. In 2007 he moved to the Ministry of the Attorney General as tribunal counsel to the Ontario Municipal Board, representing the tribunal before Ontario courts on jurisdictional and procedural issues, and he played a role in consolidating the predecessor boards that became the Ontario Land Tribunal. He has now returned to private practice, bringing that municipal and planning experience to his work at the firm.
