About Sophia

Sophia Maisonneuve has been with Bayne Sellar Ertel Macrae since 2019, starting as a summer student, and began her articles in 2022 before being called to the bar in June 2023. She obtained a combined degree in political science and a Juris Doctor in French from the University of Ottawa, graduating cum laude. She has worked under senior counsel on files including robbery, sexual assault, drug and human trafficking, fraud, arson, firearms offences and impaired driving, and offers her services in French, having worked on several French-language files under experienced francophone lawyers. She is a member of the County of Carleton Law Association, the Defence Counsel Association of Ottawa, and the Criminal Lawyers' Association.
