About Sophia
Sophia Dales practises across all areas of family law at McCarthy Hansen & Company LLP, appearing before Ontario courts and tribunals. She moved into family law nearly a decade into her career, a shift shaped in part by raising two young children. Before that she handled class actions and commercial litigation at a top Toronto litigation boutique, acting as counsel on major cases including a syndicated mortgage fraud matter and the Ontario 'birth alerts' class action. She brings that background in torts, damages, business law, shareholder disputes and defamation to her family law files. Sophia earned her law degree from the University of Ottawa in 2014 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2015, having earned top marks in international human rights law during school.
