Simon Hodgett's practice centers on commercial contracting and advisory work tied to technology. He counsels businesses that rely heavily on technology and complex services, as well as technology suppliers ranging from established software companies to early-stage ventures. Hodgett leads a team that develops new legal service approaches for the firm's fast-growing technology clients working in areas such as fintech, artificial intelligence, data analytics, and digital health. He has served as lead counsel on matters spanning technology, banking, pensions, investment, health care, energy, telecommunications, and retail, and advises on technology sales to government bodies and large enterprises. Hodgett speaks and writes on technology law in public and firm settings, and previously served as president of the Canadian Information Technology Law Association (IT.Can).
