About Marc
Marc Isaacs is a partner at Isaacs Odinocki LLP practicing maritime, transportation, and insurance law, with a broader civil and commercial litigation practice. He obtained his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall in 1994 and was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996. In 2002 he received an LL.M. in Admiralty, with distinction, from Tulane University School of Law, after being awarded the Stiles Graduate Fellowship from the Admiralty Law Institute, and served on the editorial board of the Tulane Maritime Law Journal. He joined the predecessor to Isaacs Odinocki LLP in 2003 and became a partner in 2006. He has handled precedent-setting maritime law cases involving Canada's Admiralty jurisdiction, forum selection clauses under the Marine Liability Act, and maritime liens, and has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, the Federal Court, and the Federal Court of Appeal. In 2017 he became President of the Canadian Maritime Law Association, and he is a past president of the Canadian Transport Lawyers Association and the Marine Club. He is an adjunct professor of Admiralty Law at the University of Toronto Law School.
