About Shane

Shane Coblin is a partner in Kornfeld's Litigation and Dispute Resolution group, whose practice centres on construction, real estate, and commercial disputes. He regularly advises senior executives, in-house counsel, real estate development companies, investors, and family-owned businesses on dispute-avoidance strategies, and represents clients across all court levels, administrative tribunals, mediations, and arbitrations. In real estate and construction matters he represents owners, investors, and major developers in disputes involving shareholders, vendors, contractors, builders, and strata corporations, with substantial experience under the Real Estate Development Marketing Act, Strata Property Act, and Builders Lien Act. He also advises on shareholder disputes, securities matters, insolvency, estate litigation, and fiduciary and negligence claims. He holds an LLB from the Faculty of Law at Queen's University and a BA in Psychology from the University of Western Ontario, was called to the bar in Ontario in 2002 and British Columbia in 2006, and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
