About Sean
Sean Murtha is a partner who came to Thomas Gold Pettingill after practicing insurance defence litigation at a major Bay Street firm. Sean's practice covers complex insurance disputes such as failure to educate claims, occupiers' liability, sports liability, product liability, and professional negligence, along with motor vehicle coverage matters. Sean also acts for insurers pursuing fraud recovery claims tied to false invoices and documents. Sean has appeared before the Superior Court, Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Sean earned a JD from the University of Ottawa in 2011, graduated summa cum laude with a BA in political science and history in 2008, and was called to the Ontario bar in 2012.
