Jesse McCormick's practice centers on First Nations empowerment in major project development, regulatory processes and treaty relationships. Work alongside Indigenous governments helps ensure large-scale infrastructure, energy and resource projects respect their rights and jurisdiction, drawing on experience in impact assessment, Crown consultation and rights affirmation. Jesse assists Nations in exercising decision-making authority through durable agreements, regulatory participation and the assurance of free, prior and informed consent. A citizen of Canada, the Anishinabek Nation and the Oneida Nation (Wolf Clan), Jesse holds an LLM from Harvard Law School, an LLB from the University of Ottawa and a BA from the University of Guelph, and is admitted to the bars of Ontario and British Columbia. Jesse previously clerked for Madam Justice Dolores Hansen of the Federal Court of Canada and for the International Labour Organization's Administrative Tribunal.
