About Alexander
Alex is a trial and appellate litigator with a broad practice in corporate and commercial disputes, insurance litigation on both the defence and coverage sides, and the defence of professional negligence, class action, and defamation claims. He has argued numerous appeals before the Ontario Court of Appeal and has appeared before the Supreme Court of Canada. Much of his work involves institutional clients, including Ontario universities facing claims of educational malpractice and organizations defending vicarious liability claims such as sexual abuse and harassment allegations. Alex regularly conducts mediations and is prepared to take a case through trial when a settlement can't be reached. He has spoken to groups such as the Insurance Institute of Ontario on defending institutions against abuse and harassment claims, and he serves as a contributing editor to a professional liability publication. He earned his LL.B. from Queen's University in 1990 and was called to the Ontario bar in 1992.
