About Sanjiv

Sanjiv Parmar, KC founded Parmar Law in 2016 after working as Crown Counsel with Alberta Justice. He practices as a lawyer, mediator, and arbitrator, handling matters in child welfare and protection, family law, domestic violence and protection orders, criminal law, immigration and refugee claims, human rights and employment, civil litigation including landlord-tenant and construction disputes, and wills and estates. He holds the Registered Family Mediator and Certified Comprehensive Family Mediator designations and a Qualified Arbitrator designation, and mediates and arbitrates matters in Alberta, British Columbia, and internationally. Sanjiv was called to the Alberta bar in 2011, earned his JD from the University of Calgary in 2010, and was appointed King's Counsel in 2024. He served as a Bencher on the Law Society of Alberta board from 2021 and speaks English, Punjabi, and Hindi.
