About Sandra

Sandra Abitan has built a career as a prominent insolvency and restructuring practitioner working across Québec, the rest of Canada, and internationally. Her advisory work covers a broad client base, including Canadian and international companies, financial institutions, equity holders, and court-appointed officers, on matters ranging from corporate reorganizations and recapitalizations to complex restructurings and strategic acquisitions. Abitan served as Managing Partner of Osler's Montréal office from 2017 to June 2025 and has held other leadership roles at the firm. She has been active in initiatives promoting diversity within the legal profession through committees with the Barreau du Québec. She previously chaired the Montréal chapter of the Turnaround Management Association as its Past President, and she currently sits on the board of the Insolvency Institute of Canada, as well as the board of the Montréal Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. The Québec Bar later honoured her with its Advocatus Emeritus distinction for her contributions to the legal profession.
