About Ryan

Ryan Venables joined Kruse Law in 2024 after being called to the bar in 2013, and focuses his practice exclusively on criminal and quasi-criminal defence, including Criminal Code driving offences such as impaired driving and dangerous driving. Before law school, he worked with the RCMP on organized crime investigations and later served as a York Regional Police officer specializing in organized crime and domestic violence investigations. He earned a BA in Political Science and Sociology from the University of Western Ontario in 2001 and returned there for law school in 2009, articling afterward at Ross & McBride LLP in Hamilton. Ryan has defended more than 3,000 DUI clients over the past decade and has also worked as a per diem Crown Attorney. He speaks French and can assist clients in that language.
