About Ryan

Ryan Unruch holds a partner role within Osler's Emerging and High Growth Companies practice, where his work centres on venture capital financings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and structuring and reorganization work for growing businesses. He counsels entrepreneurs, start-ups, strategic investors, and a range of institutional investors including venture capital funds, growth-equity sponsors, private equity firms, and pension plans, in connection with deals spanning Canada and cross-border markets. Ryan's background includes transactions in the technology, fintech, biotech, and life sciences spaces, and he is also well versed in negotiating a variety of commercial agreements. Before joining Osler, he worked at a Canadian national law firm and a major global firm concentrating on venture capital and private equity deals, and also served as in-house corporate counsel for one of Canada's largest national retailers.
