About Ronald
Ronald Appleby is the retired founding partner of Robins Appleby LLP, where he built a career in tax and estate planning law. He earned the Queen's Counsel designation in 1982, just twelve years into practice, and retired from the firm and the profession on December 31, 2023. He served for years as a part-time professor of taxation law at Osgoode Hall Law School and was an editor of the Osgoode Hall Law Journal. He earned his LL.B. from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1968 and a B.Comm. from the University of Toronto in 1965. Beyond his practice, he took on leadership roles with organizations including the Canadian Friends of Hebrew University, the United Jewish Appeal and the Jewish Federation of Greater Toronto, and received an honorary doctorate from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in 2009.
