Regulated health professionals and health-sector clients are at the centre of Romina Hassanzadeh's work as an associate in the Disputes Department at Gowling WLG's Ottawa office. Many of these matters reach well beyond the legal result. A college complaint, an investigation, a discipline hearing or a licensing problem can put someone's reputation, licence and livelihood on the line, and that's exactly the ground Hassanzadeh covers.

Hassanzadeh has appeared before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, the Court of Appeal for Ontario, the Health Professions Appeal and Review Board and the Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario. That mix of courts and tribunals is useful for clients juggling a regulatory process alongside civil, employment or administrative proceedings. Hassanzadeh works in English and Farsi.

Called to the Ontario bar in 2020 and in Alberta in 2025, Hassanzadeh practised at a civil litigation firm in Ottawa before coming to Gowling WLG. The associate's own route into law ran through science: a biomedical sciences degree at the University of Ottawa, a 2015 DAAD Rise internship at Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen, then a JD from the same Ottawa school. Along the way, Hassanzadeh interned at Judicial Affairs in the Department of Justice and volunteered as a legal assistant with Pro Bono Ontario, both in 2017.
