About Roland Acheson

Roland Acheson practises personal injury law at Diamond & Diamond Lawyers, standing up for people who've been hurt so they can get fair compensation and a real shot at justice. Roland went into law with the goal of helping the people who need it most.

Roland didn't start in injury work. The first stretch of Roland's career was spent in criminal defence, arguing bail hearings, Charter applications and trials before the Ontario Court of Justice and the Superior Court of Justice. In 2026 Roland argued a first jury trial. Along the way Roland has helped hundreds of clients from all kinds of backgrounds, many of them vulnerable people up against serious legal problems.

The road to the bar ran through two countries. Roland studied Criminology at Laurier's Brantford campus, then moved with the cohort to Brighton to earn a law degree at the University of Sussex, as part of the inaugural cohort of the joint Laurier and Sussex program. While at Sussex, Roland joined the Sussex Row team. Articling came next, at a criminal defence firm in London, Ontario, and Roland was called to the Ontario bar in 2023.

Away from work, Roland enjoys hockey, hiking and staying fit. Roland's also a big podcast fan, with interests that run to music, politics and nature.
