About Robert

Rob is a partner in Cox & Palmer's Halifax office practising income and commodity taxation. He began his career in general corporate and commercial practice in Nova Scotia before moving to Toronto to focus on tax, first with an accounting firm and then a law firm, and returned to Nova Scotia in 1996 to serve as Financial Counsel to the province before joining Cox & Palmer in 1998. His practice covers tax-efficient business structuring, corporate reorganizations, estate freezes, business succession planning, and representing clients in tax audits and disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency. He has served on the Canadian Tax Foundation's Board of Governors and is a frequent author and presenter at tax conferences.
