About Richard

Richard King serves as national Co-Chair of Osler's Regulatory, Indigenous and Environmental Group, with a practice spanning energy regulatory, Indigenous and environmental law. His Indigenous law work centres on consultation and accommodation for Indigenous groups affected by large natural resource projects, mainly in the energy and mining sectors, and covers advice on the duty to consult, drafting of consultation policies and reports, and negotiating impact and benefit agreements. He has long been active in Ontario's energy sector, counselling clients on power project development, conservation programs and utility regulation, and appears regularly before the Ontario Energy Board and the Canada Energy Regulator. Richard teaches Regulatory Theory in the Energy and Infrastructure LLM Program at Osgoode Hall Law School and previously served as an adjunct professor of Environmental Law at Western University.
