About Richard

Richard has been a member of Chatwin LLP since being admitted to the Law Society of Alberta in 1998 and has also been admitted to practice in Nevada since 2005, handling matters in Saskatchewan and British Columbia in addition to Alberta. His practice focuses on insurance defence across bodily injury, professional liability, commercial general liability, construction losses, and environmental losses, along with fatal accidents, brain injuries, employee theft and fidelity actions, products liability, and builder's lien actions. He regularly advises insurance industry clients on coverage issues and defends complex coverage disputes, favouring Judicial Dispute Resolution and mediation to resolve files. He obtained a B.A. with high distinction from Concordia College in 1994 and graduated from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Law in 1997, and is the past chairman of the St. Albert Subdivision and Development Appeal Board, a sessional instructor at MacEwan University, and a member of the Canadian Bar Association.
