About Richard
Richard I.R. Winter, K.C. was called to the bar in 1966 and became one of the founding partners of Beard Winter LLP. He led the firm as Managing Partner from 1967 to 1989 and remained with the firm until his retirement at the end of 2017. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1984 and was later named a Senior Fellow Emeritus of Massey College at the University of Toronto. He belonged to the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, and became a Life Member of the Law Society of Upper Canada in 2016. He passed away on January 28, leaving behind decades of contribution to the firm he helped establish.
