About Rachel Lenaghan

Rachel Lenaghan handles corporate and commercial matters, real estate, and wills, trusts and estates as an associate lawyer at GGFI Law. The firm welcomed Rachel as its newest associate on November 1, 2024, the year Rachel's family relocated from British Columbia to Waterloo Region. Free time goes to family and friends and to getting to know Waterloo Region and the places beyond it.

Just before that move, Rachel practised in Victoria at Jawl Bundon LLP, joining in September 2019 after being called to the British Columbia bar that year, and taking on work as both a barrister and a solicitor. Those years followed a stint in England at the University of Cambridge, where Rachel negotiated and drafted research agreements with a focus on safeguarding the university's intellectual property and publication rights while keeping its risk and liability down.

The legal career itself started in Toronto, with articles at WeirFoulds LLP and a call to the Ontario Bar in 2015. Rachel holds a law degree from Queen's and, before that, earned a psychology degree at the University of Victoria. Having practised across several fields, Rachel takes a multi-disciplinary approach, aiming for advice that's thorough and well considered.
