About Phillip M. Behm

Phillip M. Behm is a litigator at Bennett Grant LLP in Kitchener who handles disputes arising out of commercial and corporate relationships. That work has included fights between shareholders, real estate and construction litigation, and employment law matters, and Phillip also takes on insurance litigation and debt recovery files with the firm's other lawyers in those groups.

Kitchener is home ground. Phillip grew up in the city and played AAA hockey there as a teenager with the Kitchener Jr. Rangers, and the game's still a big part of life: Phillip is a volunteer coach with the Kitchener Minor Hockey Association, without a child on the team, and is currently behind the bench of the Jr. Rangers U12 BB squad. Away from the office and the rink, you'll find Phillip golfing, out with a golden retriever or up at the cottage in Port Elgin.

Phillip's legal training came at Melbourne Law School, which awarded a Juris Doctor. Highlights there included the highest mark in sports law and a finish in the top 5% of the cohort for research into how artificial intelligence is shaping patent law internationally, and the subjects that held Phillip's interest were commercial and corporate litigation, construction law and intellectual property. A call to the bar in 2023 was followed by a move into Bennett Grant's litigation team.
