About Peter Madorin

Peter Madorin is a civil litigator with more than 58 years of experience who now practises in association with Amaral Mendes LLP in Kitchener. In insurance defence, Peter acts for insurers and defends claims made against municipalities, hospitals, professionals and property owners, among others.

Peter's career began in 1964, the year of the Ontario call to the bar, after law school at Dalhousie University. That same year Peter started out as an associate at the Kitchener firm now called Madorin, Snyder LLP, became a partner there in 1966, and stayed until 2022.

Plaintiffs and defendants have both had Peter in their corner. The work has meant many appearances in the Superior Court of Justice, the Divisional Court and the Court of Appeal for Ontario, as well as before a range of administrative tribunals. Peter was appointed Queen's Counsel in 1979 and became a certified Specialist in Civil Litigation in 1988.

Waterloo Region has been home to Peter for a long time, and the local bar has honoured that career more than once. The Waterloo Region Law Association presented Peter with its Coulter A. Osborne Award in 2005, and in 2022 announced Peter as one of five members to receive its Legend of the Profession award at the Opening of the Courts.
