About Nelson

Nelson Amaral co-founded Amaral Mendes LLP and works as both a civil litigator and corporate lawyer. He has represented plaintiffs and defendants at various levels of Ontario courts and before administrative tribunals in contract, property, debt collection, employment, and business disputes. He also handles wills, estates, and trusts, and has worked on corporate reorganizations, asset purchases, and mergers. Raised in Cambridge, Ontario, Nelson earned an honours B.A. in philosophy from Wilfrid Laurier University before completing a master's in the field. He attended law school at Western University, where he won the Canadian title at the American Bar Association Negotiation Competition twice, and received a scholarship to study at the University of Paris. He graduated in 2005 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2006, and is a longtime resident of the Waterloo Region.
