About Peter

Peter Aprile is a Partner and founder of Counter Tax Litigators LLP, representing private companies and high-net-worth individuals in tax disputes since 2006 and working to help them retain the economic value they create against CRA reassessments. His recent files include a $27 million dispute over the residency status of corporate subsidiaries, four overseas asset-reporting appeals that saved clients a combined $4.2 million, a 91 percent reduction in assessments across five Tax Court appeals, and a settlement that saved a client $2.3 million on overseas income. He began his career alongside veteran tax litigator Richard Fitzsimmons before founding Counter, and he now leads the firm's '1% for Good' pro bono initiative aimed at increasing accountability within the CRA and the Department of Justice.
