About Jennifer

Jennifer Mak's practice at Counter Tax covers all aspects of tax controversy and litigation. She has represented clients in appeals before the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Court of Canada, and regularly handles complex audits and objections for private companies and high-net-worth individuals with cross-border issues. She has resolved disputes involving tax residence, GST/HST, judicial review applications, and shareholder and employee benefits. Mak was called to the Ontario bar in 2020 and completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program between 2022 and 2025. She holds a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Commerce from Queen's University, and mentors law students each year through the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers.
