About James

James Roberts is a partner representing private companies and high-net-worth individuals in tax litigation, appearing before the Tax Court of Canada and the Federal Courts. His recent work includes resolving a multi-million-dollar dispute with a 94 percent reduction in the amount at issue, cutting foreign reporting penalties by more than $3 million, and persuading the CRA to abandon its position on a large capital investment, saving a client over $2 million. James started at the firm as a summer student in 2016 and was called to the Ontario bar in 2018. He completed the CPA Canada In-Depth Tax Program, earned his J.D. from Western University and his Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University's Ted Rogers School of Management, and belongs to the Canadian Tax Foundation and the Ontario Bar Association's Tax Group.
