About Paul

Paul Jacobson, K.C. is a senior member of the Alberta Bar whose practice focuses on family wealth preservation, working with lawyers, accountants and financial planners to design tax-efficient strategies, often incorporating trust structures. His early career focused on tax law, including tax compliance and planning at a major accounting firm and completion of the CICA In-Depth Tax Course, and he later developed expertise in international taxation through advanced legal study. He has lectured at the university level on trusts and their taxation and continues to advise clients through his independent practice while serving as senior counsel to Caron & Partners. He was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2008.
