About Patrick

Patrick Cleary is a Partner in the Banking + Lending, Real Estate, and Corporate/Commercial groups, and he also sits on the firm's Executive team. He has broad experience in corporate commercial law, having acted for real estate development clients on matters spanning leasing, financing, acquisitions, and dispositions across residential, industrial, and commercial properties. On the banking side he represents both lenders and borrowers in routine and complex debt financing along with secured and unsecured lending transactions, and he has been heavily involved in mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, governance issues, joint ventures, and drafting commercial agreements. Patrick has a particular interest in resolving disputes amicably, having acted as counsel in both domestic and international contract negotiations and completed the Harvard Negotiation Certificate in 2007. He also has extensive experience advising on procurement matters, including requests for proposals, invitations to tender, outsourcing arrangements, licensing, telecommunications projects, and service level and technology agreements. Before joining the firm, Patrick gained international business experience at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP Management Consultants. Away from the office, he spends much of his time enjoying Vancouver's parks, beaches, and ski hills with his wife and their two young children.
