About Patricia
Dr. Patricia Speight practises from the firm's Toronto office, with a career prosecuting cases that helped establish Canadian class action jurisprudence, including Telectronics (the first case to certify a global class), Vitamins (the first case to determine carriage of a class action), Hepatitis C (the first billion-dollar class settlement), and Bre-X (the first securities class action in Ontario). She focuses on product liability, price-fixing, securities, foreign exchange charges, criminal interest rates, and mass torts. Before law she held a doctorate in physics from the University of Toronto and completed a post-doctorate at the University of Oxford. She earned her LL.B. from the University of Windsor in 1984, completed the Bar Admission Course at Osgoode Hall, and articled at Sutts Strosberg LLP.
