About Frank

Frank Retar is a criminal defence lawyer based in Windsor, Ontario, practising since 2001. He has represented clients facing charges ranging from murder, dangerous offender applications, and drug importing and trafficking to impaired driving and highway traffic matters. He worked in manufacturing for close to 10 years before earning an undergraduate degree from Lakehead University in Thunder Bay, then completed a law degree through the University of Windsor and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. After law school he worked in Thunder Bay with B. Lee Baig, Q.C., then as an associate in Kitchener with Justice W. Rabley of the Ontario Court of Justice, before relocating to Windsor in 2001 to build his own practice. He is qualified under Legal Aid Ontario as a panel member for Extremely Serious Criminal Matters, including murder charges, dangerous offender applications, and terrorism-related charges. He is a member of the Law Society of Upper Canada, the Criminal Lawyers Association, the Essex Lawyers Association, and the Chatham Kent Lawyers Association.
