About Owen

Owen James is a commercial litigator and founding partner of DJA Counsel with a particular focus on class actions and real estate and environmental disputes, having appeared at trial and appellate courts across Canada, including the Supreme Court of Canada, and before administrative tribunals including the Environmental Appeal Board and the Real Estate Council of BC. He contributes regularly to legal education, authoring and editing chapters in the Annual Review of Law and Practice and the British Columbia Civil Trial Handbook, and sits on the Editorial Board of the Provincial Court Small Claims Handbook. Before co-founding DJA Counsel he practised at an international law firm and a Vancouver securities litigation boutique, and began his career clerking for justices of the BC Supreme Court.
