About Oliver

Oliver Mao serves as Director of Foreign Worker Programs at BARTLAW, where his work centres on temporary residence applications for companies and individuals, permanent residence applications and citizenship matters. Earlier in his career he handled judicial review applications, sponsorship and removal order appeals, labour market impact assessments and compliance reviews, intra-company transfers, provincial nominee applications, and work and study permits. He holds a combined honours degree in Arts, Science and Psychology from McMaster University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto. Mao has written frequently for The Lawyers Daily on immigration topics such as foreign worker programs and trade agreements, and he has served the Canadian Bar Association's Immigration Section as Young Lawyer Coordinator and later as Portal Coordinator.
