About Niki

Niki Kanavas practises corporate and commercial litigation and appeals, including commercial lease disputes, insurance claims, and shareholder and partnership disagreements, alongside construction law and property matters such as liens, defects, and boundary disputes. She also has experience in intellectual property defence litigation and has appeared before administrative tribunals and courts up to the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Federal Court of Appeal. Niki graduated from the University of Toronto in 2004, completed her legal studies in the United Kingdom in 2011, and earned an LL.M. from California Western School of Law in 2014 with a focus on pharmaceutical law and public policy, giving her working knowledge of UK and U.S. law alongside Canadian law. She taught law at Seneca College for eight years and edited exam materials for business law textbooks published by McGraw Hill Canada. She belongs to the Canadian and Ontario Bar Associations, the Advocates' Society, and the Toronto Lawyers' Association, and sits on the board of the Hellenic Canadian Lawyers' Association.
