About Nigel
Nigel Montoute is a partner at Kirk Montoute Dawson LLP who established his first law firm in 1997 and has practised family law for more than 25 years. He has appeared before all levels of court in Alberta and is experienced across all forms of alternative dispute resolution, and also works as a parenting coordinator helping families resolve co-parenting disputes. He has been a faculty member and panelist for several Legal Education Society of Alberta seminars, including on cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements and matrimonial property, has published papers on cohabitation agreements and unjust enrichment claims, and received the Distinguished Service Award from Calgary Legal Guidance in 2015. He earned his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School and a BA from the University of Calgary.
