David Welsh practices intellectual property, civil litigation and administrative law, real estate law, and wills and estate services in Edmonton. Welsh has been a registered Canadian trademark agent since 1991 and has been recognized by the United States Patent and Trademark Office since 2007, handling patent, industrial design, copyright, and trademark registrations and transactions, as well as non-profit and charitable registrations. Welsh earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta in 1979 and a Bachelor of Arts in 1973, and previously practiced at Trevoy LLP, Matheson & Company, and Snyder & Company. Welsh has served as secretary and legal counsel for several motorsports organizations and co-founded the Edmonton Dragon Boat Festival.
