About Nicolas

Nicolas Besner is a family lawyer at Demas Schaefer who also handles general civil litigation and mediation. Raised on a dairy and maple farm in Eastern Ontario, he graduated with honours in philosophy and psychology before pursuing his legal education at the University of Ottawa's Programme de common law en francais, graduating in 2022. He has completed over one hundred hours of family mediation training, drafted marriage contracts, separation agreements, wills, and powers of attorney, and has courtroom experience arguing before the Court of Appeal for Ontario. He serves as a combat engineer in the Primary Reserve of the Canadian Armed Forces and offers his services in both French and English across Alberta and Ontario.
