About Nancy

Nancy Kleer is one of the founding partners of OKT, practising Treaty and Aboriginal rights and environmental law. She represents First Nations and Aboriginal clients in negotiating modern treaties and responding to resource developments such as mining and hydroelectric projects, and advises on the duty to consult and accommodate. Nancy also guides First Nations through federal and provincial environmental assessment processes, submissions to environmental tribunals, and species at risk issues, and has helped settle long-standing grievances with Ontario Power Generation. Her work includes advising on First Nation trusts, additions to reserve, and Band Council governance. She is listed as most frequently recommended by the Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory and belongs to the Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador bars.
