About Michelle

Michelle Chai advises corporate commercial clients in banking, energy, telecommunications, customs, and procurement, as well as insurers in disability, personal injury, and property insurance matters. She has represented clients in commercial arbitrations and before the Nova Scotia Supreme Court, Federal Court, and the Supreme Court of Canada. Her practice includes appeals of customs tariff classifications before the Canadian International Trade Tribunal and defence of professional malpractice and insurance claims for national and international insurers. Chai co-chairs the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society's Gender Equity Committee and has taught civil trial practice at Dalhousie's Schulich School of Law. She earned her JD from Dalhousie University in 2012 and a BAH in Political Studies and History from Queen's University in 2009. She was called to the Nova Scotia bar in 2013.
