About Michael
Michael W. Brown is a graduate of the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa. He was admitted as a member of the Law Society of Alberta in 1981 and of British Columbia in 1995, and practises in business law, real estate and development law, wills and estates, and civil litigation. He has been active in the Nanaimo community, serving on the boards of the Malaspina University College Foundation, the United Way, the Nanaimo Dragon Boat Festival Society, Crime Stoppers, the Nanaimo Rotary Club, and the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce, and currently sits on the Nanaimo Airport Commission. He chaired the Board of Governors of Vancouver Island University during its transition from a university college to a full university, and in 2012 received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his community service.
