About Michael
Michael N. Freeman divides his practice between family law and civil litigation, aiming to help clients reach fair results through focused settlement negotiations while remaining a seasoned courtroom litigator when needed. He handles custody and access disputes, relocation and mobility questions, spousal and child support, agreement variations, and property and child protection issues. His civil litigation work spans employment and labour disputes, personal injury and motor vehicle claims, medical malpractice, and estate and commercial litigation. Michael was called to the bar in April 1990, joined the firm in 1996, and became a partner in 2000. He is a certified Family Law Mediator-Arbitrator and a former member of the Office of the Children's Lawyer Panel, and he taught family law and practice skills at the Bar Admission course from 1993 to 2008. He served as litigation counsel for the Toronto Police Association from 1998 to 2012.
