About Michael

Michael Forberg focuses on intellectual property law, particularly patent litigation. He gained industry experience in the pharmaceutical sector as a medicinal chemistry intern working on early small-molecule drug development, and separately as a development technician on a new radiopharmaceutical production process. He studied chemistry at the University of Ottawa, specializing in synthetic organic chemistry, completing an undergraduate degree followed by graduate coursework. His research included work toward the total synthesis of the natural product Penostatin F and development of a gold double-catalysis reaction. He received medals from the Faculty of Science and the Society of Chemical Industry for top standing in the chemistry specialization, plus a prize for best project presentation in the chemistry department. He holds a JD from the University of Toronto.
