Melodie practises tax law with a focus on estate and trust planning, family business succession planning, planning for persons with disabilities, and tax-driven corporate reorganizations, working with clients on everything from straightforward estate transfers to long-term structuring of family-owned businesses and cross-border estate and tax issues. She makes a priority of serving clients who are disabled or have family members with disabilities, helping structure trust and estate plans for appropriate financial care. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and criminology from Simon Fraser University and a Bachelor of Laws with distinction from the University of Alberta, and holds the Trust and Estate Practitioner designation and advanced tax training through the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants and Canadian Bar Association. Raised in Kelowna, she has served on the executive of the Okanagan Chapter of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and is a past director of the Okanagan Chapter of the Canadian Association of Family Enterprise. She has been recognized in the 2025 and 2026 editions of The Best Lawyers in Canada for her corporate law work.
