About Melanie

Melanie A. Dekoker is a barrister, solicitor and notary public practising family, estate and real estate law at Ferron Legal. She earned an Honours Bachelor of Paralegal Studies from Humber College in 2019 and worked as a licensed paralegal while providing legal support in various roles. She completed her Juris Doctor at Queen's University's Faculty of Law in 2024 and became a licensed lawyer with the Law Society of Ontario in 2025. Dekoker is a member of the Legal Aid Ontario family law roster and offers services to both private and legal aid clients. She grew up in Cambridge, Ontario before settling in the Northumberland area.
