About Mel

Mel K. Norton joined Lawson Creamer in 2000 upon his admission to the New Brunswick Bar, focusing his practice on litigation, including debtor-creditor law, construction matters and commercial claims. He became a partner in 2010 and is active with the Canadian Bar Association, having chaired its Young Lawyers section in New Brunswick. Outside the firm, Mel served as a Saint John city councillor from 2010 to 2012 and as Mayor of Saint John from 2012 to 2016, and currently chairs WorkSafeNB. He earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Law, both from the University of New Brunswick.
