About Megan

Megan Abbot practices within Cozen O'Connor's Institutional Response Group, helping educational institutions prevent and respond to civil rights and misconduct issues. Her work includes designing policies addressing discrimination and harassment, investigating institutions, and guiding school districts and universities through compliance obligations under laws such as Title IX and the Americans with Disabilities Act. Before joining the firm, she spent years with the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, where she led systemic investigations, drafted settlement agreements, and represented the DOJ in matters including a case that delivered more than $4 million to survivors of sexual abuse and discrimination. She also co-chaired an interagency working group on civil rights risk in federal grants. Megan earned her J.D. cum laude from Georgetown University Law Center and her undergraduate degree, also cum laude, from Georgetown University. Before law school she worked at a nonprofit on gender-based violence issues and served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Nicaragua.
