About Meagan

Meagan E. Abercrombie is an associate at Baker Newby LLP focused on family law. Raised in the Fraser Valley with deep roots in Mission and Abbotsford, she obtained her law degree from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at UBC in 2021 and was called to the bar in 2022, after an externship with Rise Women's Legal Centre providing legal services to marginalized women facing family violence. She worked as an associate at another large Fraser Valley firm before joining Baker Newby in early 2024, and regularly conducts research to argue cases before the Provincial and Supreme Courts of British Columbia. She has completed certification in collaborative divorce and is a member of the Collaborative Association of the Lower Mainland, drafts separation and cohabitation agreements, and offers independent legal advice appointments. Abercrombie is of Coast Salish Squamish Nation descent and half Costa Rican, and assists clients fluently in Spanish.
